Infrared (IR) thermography surveys are used to determine loose connections and hot spots on electrical systems. Infrared surveys should be used on all power services. A loose connection can cause thousands of dollars of downtime and lost revenue. Infrared inspections can be beneficial on; PLC controls to look for overloaded ground and return leads, motor starters and contactors, high voltage substations, motors, and pumps to determine hot spots. Infrared inspections are very beneficial for underground mining operations to detect bad trolley insulators that may arc and cause a potential fire. IR detection is very useful in motor control centers when looking for loose connections and overloaded conductors. The analogy of IR to the human health is similar to a CT scan or heart catheterization to show areas where potential problems may exist, low blood flow. We provide health care for your electrical systems, we plan by keeping the power flowing safely and efficiently. Other uses for Infrared Thermography are malfunctioning steam traps, refractory deterioration, boiler flue gas leak detection, building insulation, and roof membrane leaks. Key Benefits
